Initiatives at Galexy include:
- Support of the Gaia Guide, an open data platform for creating field guides. Gaia Guide covers all living species (plants, mammals, fish, birds and all the others) and facilitates contributions from all users. Soon, Gaia Guide will go mobile, with users being able to download data for just those species that they hope to encounter on their next wilderness adventure. Gaia Guide is built on an extensible set of carefully tailored XML standards for field guide data.
- Support of the XBRLAPI project, an open source API for XBRL, implemented in Java and designed to work with massive datasets.
- The Datafactory, a web-application that supports the development and validation of default-risk models for financial institutions in data-poor environments. It enables export of data using the XBRL format.
